Missionary Report

For those who couldn't make it to my nephew J's missionary report due to sickness, snow, being a missionary, or living far far away, I recorded it and have downloaded it here. It says movie but it is only audio and a picture. It is so great to have him back. He is a great example to all of the family. Enjoy

It lasts about 17 minutes

My new favorites

I always like getting fun new and exciting things here are some of my new favorites.

Fun things that are actually from China. My sister and her crew went over to China in December and look at the fun. Who doesn't like books and cookies. The book is so much fun, it's fun trying to guess which characters mean what.
M got me this book for Christmas. This is a coffee- (sorry, hot cocoa?) table book that was written by my favorite recording artist. Plus it came all the way from Nova Scotia. The box it came in was great, it had a hand written label. You just don't see that anymore. It has great pictures of Nova Scotia and makes me want to go to Nova Scotia even more. M and I are going to see MacMaster in concert in April because she's coming to PC. Hazaa!

Then M got this for me the other day. This is little Nipper the ladybug. He is so cute and you can fill up his tummy with candy. M asked me how I knew it was a "He" and I said 'look at his eyes; girls don't look that mischievous' But it is so cute. I love it when M spoils me with little things.

I didn't have a picture but I loved the movie Tangled too. It's my new fave as well.

Ghost Chicken

What's the Ghost Chicken you ask? Well this Chicken comes in and out of the hedge (Steve) in our backyard. The chicken eats our bugs, wanders around our back yard, and goes back in to hedge. We don't know who owns him, he just stops by. Some of our neighbors have seen him too.

However, the ghost chicken is always welcome to eat our bugs. I wish he would keep away the deer and raccoons too.

"CARtastrophies"

I feel the need to rant. I know what your thinking 'everything will work out fine' and 'you know you should have....', but just put your reading glasses on and sympathize with me/us for a minute.

The other day I took our fun little car to get an oil change and walked out with a $700 bill. I'm no car expert but when the mechanic says 'you need new tires' and I say 'show me the old ones', and he says 'look at the steel bands starting show through', I say 'yep I need new tires' so there goes a tons of cash that I so wanted to spend on something rather than tires.

Then a week after that M and I got in a fender bender. We were going south to the big city and took an off ramp where "Smashly Simpson" rammed into us. Yes, were okay, we both had some minor whiplash from it but we're okay (believe me I'm not being ungrateful that we weren't hurt, I'm truly thankful, but the story gets better). M gets out and handles everything, because during things like this I have one of the following three responses, shake, cry, or the desire to swear like a sailor. He handles everything; the damage isn't too bad, but with new cars you know it's going to be a little bit more than you'd expect. The women that hit us said she wanted to work it out with us, and not involve insurance and all that. So we agree and swapped info and left.

Fast forward two weeks later and a few phone calls later, we find out she has no insurance, she has given us a phone number that has now been disconnected, and we will be stuck with the bill. Great. So I am going to say good bye to another lump of cash.

So what have we learned: always call the police when in an accident no matter how minor.

Rant done; thanks I feel a little better

Scottish Nativity

What is the world coming to when you can find cowboy and panda bear nativities but not Scottish? I know the mind reels.
So I found a set that looked easy to adapt and added my own tartans. I also have authentic Scottish animals (i.e Highland cattle and Stag).

Much thanks to my Mom and brothers DTW (both of them) who helped with finding fun animals and getting me a cool bagpipe figurine to get tartan ideas from.

Brothers and theme songs

It has been a recent discussion with my brothers that the Harry Potter theme song and the Little Rascals theme song are the same with the exception of the Harry Potter theme song being in a minor key. So since we can never manage to keep either tune in our heads, here is an a compare and contrast moment.

So what do you think, same or totally different?
